The City of Sanford and the Sanford Police Department have teamed up with the Lee County Enrichment Center to offer a lunch program geared toward senior citizens.
In past years, many seniors have not participated in National Night Out because it is too hot for them. This event will be held in an air conditioned facility and a meal will be served (pre-registration required).
The Community Policing Unit will provide safety tips and strategies for staying safe. Ashley Graham with Lee County's Project Lazarus will present information about prescription medication safety.
The event is free to attend. Lunch will begin at the end of the program (11:45a). The cost of lunch is $7.50. Anyone who would like to have lunch must register by Friday, July 21 by calling 919-776-0501 ext. 2216.
Participants are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items or school supplies for BackPack Pals, which is our Project 365 project.
