Code Enforcement Division
Federal Building, 226 Carthage Street
Code Enforcement fields a wide range of issues involving
the City of Sanford including minimum housing, nuisance
abatement, building safety and working directly with
city departments and officials, and departmental
requests. Code Enforcement also serves for zoning field
enforcement, historic preservation (certificates of
appropriateness), and enforcement of city codes and
ordinances involving nuisance abatement. Code
Enforcement also works with special projects relating to
the Appearance Commission and provides support to the
Historic Preservation Commission.
