Captain Palmer retired in February of 2011
          Capt. Palmer started his career with the fire department in July of 1984. As a firefighter trainee, Larry volunteered at Sanford Fire Department for 8 years. He was hired full time in 1993. In 1997 Larry was promoted to Company Captain. He served this position until his retirement for a total of 16 years.

We greatly appreciate his service and commitment to the fire department and the citizens of Sanford.  We will miss him.

Captain Poole retired in December of 2010
          Capt. Poole started his career with the fire department fulltime, during the month of October in 1980. Ricky started as a rookie and moved up through the ranks. He was promoted to Co. Captain in 1992.  He served in this position until his retirement for a total of 18 years.

We greatly appreciate his service and commitment to the fire department and the citizens of Sanford.  We will miss him.
