Current Planning/Development
Services Division provides land use administration for
the City of Sanford, Lee County and the Town of Broadway.
Our primary responsibilities include the administration
of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). More specifically,
our office is responsible for:
· Review and processing of all site plans
for new construction as needed for compliance with
zoning standards (as required for Building Permit);
· Review and processing of all proposed subdivisions
of land;
· Review and processing of all requests for
zoning map changes (including conditional zoning);
· Review and processing of all requests for
amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO)
as approved by the appropriate planning board;
· Review and processing of all applications
for Board of Adjustment (variances, special use permits,
appeals and/or interpretations);
· Review and approval of sign permits, temporary
use permits and other similar land use permits.
· Our office also serves as the primary point
of contact with the Technical Review Committee, a
committee composed of city, county and State personnel
that meets for purpose of reviewing plans for new
non-residential and multi-family development projects.
