City Taxes

City Taxes are currently contracted with Lee County and can be paid at the Lee County Tax Collection's office.

Credit Bureau

The City of Sanford is a member of the Credit Bureau and all past due accounts are subject to be reported for collections after 30 days of final notice.

Disconnection for Nonpayment of Bill

Accounts are subject to disconnection if not paid in full each month. If your service is disconnected for nonpayment, delinquent fees and all arrears must be paid before service can be restored. If you pay during office hours your service will be restored without an additional charge. If you have not paid your bill and call after hours to have service reconnected you will be charged an additional $25 reconnection fee. You will then have until 10 a.m. the next day to pay the account in full. If the account is not paid in full, your service will be disconnected again and will not be reconnected until your account is paid in full.

Emergency Cut Off

If you have a broken water line, etc and need an emergency cut off please call Customer Service at 919-775-8215 during the day or the Police Department at 919-777-1000 after hours.

New Connections

If you need a new tap please contact Engineering Department at 919-777-1122 or view their website for additional information.

Ordinance Violations

The Customer Service department also handles payment of fines for ordinance violations (parking, noise, animal control, etc). You can pay in person, by phone, or through the mail:

Returned Checks

The City of Sanford charges all returned checks a processing fee of $25. We do not redeposit any returned items as the bank has already provided this service before an item is returned.
