At its June 7, 2022 meeting, Sanford City Council approved the City of Sanford’s budget for fiscal year 2022-2023, which includes rate increases for water and wastewater users.
The City’s water rate will increase by 10 percent and its wastewater rate will increase by 6 percent, effective on July 1, 2022. To view the new rate schedule, go to www.sanfordnc.net/utility-services and select “Rates” from the left sidebar.
The rate increases are necessary for repair and maintenance of the city’s existing water and wastewater lines, as well as to keep up with demands on water services brought by Sanford/Lee County’s tremendous residential and commercial growth.
Along with the rate increases, the FY 2022-2023 budget increases the municipal sanitation fee by $10 per year. View the FY 2021-2022 Budget Ordinance at www.sanfordnc.net/budget.
