Three Benches Donated to the City of Sanford

Shook Construction

Shook Construction has donated three benches to the City of Sanford for use at Kiwanis Family Park.

The donation is part of the company’s initiative to give back to communities in which they work, notes Matthew Gilroy, project manager for the company. Shook Construction is currently working to complete flood rehabilitation and flood prevention projects at the Big Buffalo Water Reclamation Facility.

“We realized that there was a need for additional benches near the splash pad and decided on installing three benches to match the existing ones,” Gilroy says.

“We appreciate Shook Construction’s commitment to our community and the families who live here,” says Mayor Chet Mann. “This generous donation will be well used for years to come.”

“The best part of this experience for me was when our foreman Gerber Sanchez installed the last bench,” Gilroy says. “He turned to me and said, ‘I can’t wait to bring my daughter here next summer. She’s going to be so proud of what her father built’.”

The benches have been installed in the splash pad for the public to use when the facility re-opens in late spring.
