The North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) has selected At Large Council member Linda Rhodes to join a 65-member committee that helps develop the league’s statewide policy goals.
The Legislative Policy Committee members review and vet policy proposals from across the League’s full membership, which includes nearly every municipality in North Carolina. After review by the NCLM Board of Directors, and a final vote by member cities and towns, the aim is an advocacy agenda that is both focused and reflects the priorities of all the state’s municipalities.
Rhodes will join members from across the state, including neighboring towns Apex and Fuquay-Varina. The committee will be led by co-chairs Mayor Jessica Day of Knightdale and Mayor Bill Dusch of Concord.
“Service on the Legislative Policy Committee is crucial to ensuring that the policy goals of the League of Municipalities are representative of the broad array of North Carolina cities and towns, and the needs of their residents,” NCLM President and Durham Mayor Pro-Tem Mark-Anthony Middleton says.
“I am truly grateful to be chosen for this opportunity to participate in the policy process and represent the challenges facing cities and towns throughout our state,” says Rhodes. “I will work hard to ensure the legislative priorities reflect the needs of our community.”
