Public Art Dedication on Thursday

The City of Sanford Appearance Commission will dedicate its newest art installment this Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Kiwanis Family Park.

The piece is a Love Lock Heart fabricated by Jeff Buchanan, who also fabricated the Before I Die wall on Charlie Watson Lane.

How it works: Sweethearts affix padlocks to the structure to symbolize their love. Other types of love can also be celebrated with a padlock, including parent-child, siblings, best friends, or a congratulations on a special achievement.

The public is invited to bring an engraved padlock to attach to the heart at the dedication.
