Youth Council Seeks New Members

High school aged youth in Sanford and Lee County are invited to attend the next meeting of the Sanford/Lee County Youth Council. Meetings are on the second Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

Next meeting: The Council will next meet on October 9 in the West End Conference Room at the Sanford Municipal Center.

The Sanford/Lee County Youth Council is a body whose mission is to represent the views and needs of Sanford/Lee County’s youth to local decision makers. The Council is open to youth in grades 9-12 at any school in Lee County, including homeschoolers.

Youth Council members learn the value of civic engagement and being a part of the community they live in. They also participate in several projects, the largest of which is a a 5K Fun Run/Walk that is held annually on the second Saturday in May and benefits local elementary schools.
