Fire Prevention Week in Sanford

October 8 through October 13 was Fire Prevention Week across the nation. The Sanford Fire Department marked the occasion by traveling to several schools and the Lee County Library to teach local youth about fire safety.

The theme of Fire Prevention Week this year was "Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” Firefighters with the Sanford Fire Department talked with children about the importance of making an escape plan in case of a home fire and regular fire drills.
