NNO Community Play Day Scheduled for Saturday
The City of Sanford and the Sanford Police Department will host the second annual Community Play Day at the Sanford Municipal Center on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
This free activity is a precursor event for National Night Out (NNO), which is August 7 this year. Neighborhood representatives and churches who attend the event on Saturday can register to host an NNO gathering for their community while they are there. (Register online here.)
There will be plenty to keep everyone busy. Along with lawn games like giant Jenga and cornhole, the Play Day will feature first response vehicles and equipment, including the from the following:
- Central Carolina Advance Life Support
- City of Sanford Public Works
- Duke Energy
- Duke Life Flight
- NC State Highway Patrol
- Paradise Towing
- Sanford Police Department
- Sanford Fire Department
To help beat the heat, Pelican SnoBalls
will be onsite selling their shaved ice treats. You can view their menu
here to get prepared.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to interact with first responders and first response equipment in a relaxed and friendly environment. It ties in well with the mission of National Night Out, which is to build strong community relationships to help combat crime.
