Public Project Symposium for Carthage Street & Charlotte Avenue on Thursday
The City of Sanford wants to improve the pedestrian and bicycle network along Carthage Street and Charlotte Avenue in Downtown and East Sanford.
We have undertaken a Carthage Street and Charlotte Avenue Complete Streets Study to evaluate this 2.5-mile corridor and recommend improvements to promote walking and biking in Sanford. The goal of these improvements will be to protect our friends, neighbors, and children as we all walk, bike, and drive along and around these streets.
Your help is needed. On Thursday, Sept. 20, we will hold a
Public Project Symposium that is open to all. The symposium is a workshop opportunity for the public to hear what we've learned and help generate ideas for improvement. The symposium will be held at the Old Armory/Hales Center located at 147 McIver Street in Sanford. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m.
The best plans are the ones we make together, so tell your friends, neighbors, and children to come join us at the Armory as we plan for the future of Sanford!
