Sanford Christmas Parade Tonight in Downtown
The Central Carolina Jaycees' annual
Sanford Christmas Parade is tonight at 7:00 p.m. in downtown Sanford.
The parade will follow the traditional route starting at the intersection of Carthage and Wicker streets. It will then travel up Wicker Street to Steele Street, over to Carthage Street and back around to the starting point.
Side streets along the parade route will close at 5:30 p.m. where they intersect with route. For example, at 5:30 p.m., a barricade will be placed where Carbonton Road intersects with Carthage Street.
The entire parade route will be closed to thru-traffic by 6:30 p.m., including:
- Wicker Street
- Steele Street
- Carthage Street
- Park Avenue
- Tryon Street
The Sanford Police Department will close Horner Boulevard last to minimize the disruption to thru-traffic.
The City encourages everyone to get into place as soon as possible to avoid any confusion.
