Public Asked to Weigh In on Transportation Needs
The Transportation Planning Division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), in cooperation with Lee County, its member municipalities, and the Triangle Area Rural Planning Organization, is developing a Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) for Lee County.
The CTP will serve as a long-range planning document to assist local governments in making transportation decisions over the next 25 to 30 years.
Public participation is essential to identify Lee County’s transportation needs and develop the CTP. Active public involvement will ensure that the plan meets the county’s current needs and prepares for our area’s future.
The Lee County Transportation Committee has created a Transportation Survey
to give the public an opportunity to share their perceptions of transportation-related issues and specific concerns they feel should be addressed in the CTP.
The Committee is comprised of representatives from Lee County, City of Sanford, Town of Broadway, Sanford Area Growth Alliance, Raleigh Executive Airport, and County of Lee Transit System (COLTS).The online CTP Survey is now live and available here
. You can pick up a paper copy at the Lee County Library, Broadway Town Hall, Customer Service at the Sanford Municipal Center, the Lee County Enrichment Center, and the McSwain Center.
A drop box will be stationed at each location or completed surveys can be returned by mail to David Montgomery,
City of Sanford, Planning and Development Dept, 115 Chatham Street, Sanford, NC 27330.
The deadline to return completed surveys is March 29, 2019.
