StreetFest & Fireworks this Saturday in Downtown
The annual day-long Sanford StreetFest & Fireworks
festival will return to downtown this Saturday with headline rockers Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.
The City of Sanford, Downtown Sanford, Inc.,
the Sanford Area Growth Alliance,
title sponsor Central Carolina Hospital,
the Visit Sanford Tourism Development Authority
, and local businesses and nonprofits will offer music, food trucks, demos, a corn hole tournament, yoga, and more. The evening will be capped off with fireworks.
Downtown streets will close early that morning for The Salvation Army’s Kettle Krush 5K Fun Run
. Steele, Carthage, Moore, and Wicker streets will remain closed all day.
Local favorite Nakia Latrelle will take the stage at 1:00 p.m., followed by Big Bump & The Stun Gunz
and Cory Leutjen & The Traveling Blues Band
. Big Booty Band will ignite downtown with their “intergalactic funk” starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be a second stage all day packed with local favorites, as well as a "Street Show" with more home talent.
Downtown restaurants will be open all day and feature StreetFest specials. Food trucks will be set up around downtown for lunch and dinner, including Mr. Mongolian

The StreetFest is family friendly. The festival’s Fun Zone will be located on Carthage Street with a game truck, inflatables, and face painting. There will also be kid-friendly activities at many of the vendor booths.
As the live music winds down, head to Depot Park for a dance party complete with Freeman Productions DJ
, Face 2 Face by Tiffany Vale
and Coke beverages while we wait for fireworks to decorate the sky over downtown.
