Successful Kiwanis Family Park Splash Pad Opening

The Kiwanis Family Park splash pad soft opening was a huge success! Attendants counted at least 120 people in the splash pad throughout Saturday and similar numbers on Sunday.

As the splash pad just became operational, staff encountered a few issues. However, they worked diligently to ensure visitors are able to continue using the splash pad without much interruption.

Heads up: As staff resolves these types of issues, there may be times where water pressure is low or water isn’t running. We ask that visitors are patient as staff addresses the issue so that everyone can continue enjoying the pad. Downtime could last up to 30 minutes.

Council Meeting, Workshop on Tuesday

The Sanford City Council will hold a special called meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Sanford Municipal Center to hold a public meeting to consider an Economic Development Incentive Package.

City Streets Scheduled for Full Resurfacing

The City of Sanford has contracted Turner Asphalt to improve several streets inside the city limits.

Crews will start by grinding and recycling the existing pavement. They will then resurface the refurbished base with a new layer of asphalt.

Streets scheduled include:

All of Millstone Court
All of Stoneridge Road
All of Weatherwood Court
Thirteenth Street from Charlotte Ave to the Dead End
Church Street from Crestview Street to S. Vance Street

Streets will be narrowed to one lane during this process. Residents are asked to ensure their vehicles are not parked in the street.
