Residents, elected officials, developers, and investors can now track local development through an interactive map, thanks to a collaboration of the Lee County GIS Department and Sanford-Lee County Planning Department.
Populated with up-to-date data from Sanford-Lee County Planning and maintained by Lee County GIS, this free service allows users to view information about proposed and approved subdivisions and developments happening across Sanford and Lee County.
“This map is a great resource that allows residents to be informed about what new projects are happening in their neighborhood and for business owners who may be thinking about investing in our community,” said Thomas Mierisch, Sanford-Lee County Zoning Administrator.
“Being able to offer a free informational resource for the benefit of our residents, developers, and future stakeholders interested in contributing to the growth and progress of the County is something the GIS Department was excited to help bring to life,” said Angela Wood, Lee County GIS Director. “Department staff were enthusiastic about offering additional resources to enhance the experience for users.”
Key features of the interactive map:
• Tracks rezonings, subdivisions, multifamily projects, and select mixed use developments.
• Provides information on project status, lot details, approved site plans, and contact information.
• Updated frequently through the GIS parcel mapping system.
• Allows users to search by project name or street address.
• Displays what the Technical Review Committee (TRC) has approved, as well as rezoning updates.
