Interactive Art
The City of Sanford and the Appearance Commission have developed several interactive art installations around Sanford.
The purpose of interactive art is to engage the spectator to create a deeper sense of connection, offer an opportunity for introspection, and remove any doubts that art is for everyone.
Whether the spectator becomes part of the art, moves the art, adds to the art, or goes in search of the art, being involved in public art leaves a lasting impression that will affect the spectator for years to come.
Share your thoughts, ideas, and dreams with passersby by recording them on our Before I Die wall, which is located right in the heart of the Downtown shopping district. The installation is stocked often with chalk.
This fun, interactive mural celebrates the vibrant mixture of arts in Sanford. Stop in and try your hand at spinning the wheel.
Show your love for your partner, family, best friend, or community by placing a lock on our Locks of Love sculpture.
Explore Downtown Sanford by embarking on a scavenger hunt to find 12 hidden miniature trains designed to look like our beloved Engine No 12. After you've found all 12, collect a prize for your sleuthing skills!
