Child Passenger Safety

Central Fire Station, located at 512 Hawkins Avenue, currently operates as a Permanent Checking Station for the installation of child safety seats. Technicians on staff are trained to assist parents/caregivers with questions and concerns regarding Child Passenger Safety. The department's main goal is to educate parents/caregivers on the proper selection and use of child safety seats each and every time children are transported in motor vehicles.

Appointments are scheduled for Saturdays only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please call 919-777-1501 by 5 p.m. Wednesday to schedule an appointment for the following Saturday.

No walk-ins please.

** Parents/caregivers need to bring the child in with the child safety seat to be checked.
