Depot Park, a space created through a public-private effort led by volunteers, is the perfect home for the Growing Volunteers sculpture installed by the City of Sanford Appearance Commission in April 2019.
The sculpture is meant to honor all volunteers who dedicate their energy and time to the beautification of downtown Sanford, with a special nod to Helen Hincks, who set the standard for our community.
This public art installation was funded by a public art grant administered by the City of Sanford, Downtown Sanford, Inc, and private contributions. It was fabricated and installed by Ed Walker, owner of Carolina Bronze.
