The City of Sanford will hold the third and final public workshop for the Downtown Sanford Small Area Plan on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church’s Harper Center.
The workshop, which will run from 6pm to 8pm, is the public’s last opportunity to share their thoughts on how the downtown area should grow. Feedback from the workshop will help create a comprehensive guide for development in Downtown Sanford over the next 15 to 20 years.
The City hopes to hear from residents, business owners, property owners, and the broader Sanford community to create a shared vision for the future of the downtown area. The final plan will include recommendations on urban design and public space, parking, transportation and mobility, and development regulations.
Plan consultants have also created a survey to allow respondents to share their thoughts about the future of Downtown Sanford and adjacent neighborhoods. Take the survey here.
Staff encourages the public to participate in both input opportunities. See all information on the Downtown Plan at www.plan4downtown.com/sanford and follow the process on the City’s projects hub at www.sanfordnc.net/projects.
Note that First Presbyterian Church is located at 203 Hawkins Avenue in Sanford. The entrance to the Harper Center is behind the church.
