The Kiwanis Family Park splash pad will open for the summer season on Saturday with new hours.
Starting May 17, the pad will run from 9am to 7pm daily. The hours will remain in place through Sunday, August 10. On August 11, the pad will operate from 1pm to 7pm on week days and from 9am to 7pm on weekends.
“Kiwanis Family Park had more than 80,000 visitors last year,” noted Parks and Grounds Administrator Caroline Jeffries. “Extending the splash pad hours allows our visitors more opportunities for enjoying our park amenities.”
To celebrate summer, the Sanford Parks Department will host a “Beach Bash” on Friday, May 23, from 2pm until 7pm. The event will include a live DJ, games, and more. There is no cost to participate. Food trucks will be on-site with items available for purchase.
Kiwanis Family Park is open from dawn to dusk year-round. The park’s restrooms open at 7am and close at 7pm March through October. November through February, the restrooms open at 7am and close at 5pm.
