[ARCHIVED] City of Sanford Offices on 2-Hour Delay for February 3

Winter WEather Delay

Due to icy road conditions from freezing temperatures overnight, the City of Sanford’s administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

GFL Environmental will start collection at 10 a.m. with Monday’s route and operate on a one-day delay until all residences have been serviced.

GFL is working diligently to get back on schedule. Therefore, it is recommended that Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday routes place carts at the curb on their regular schedule. Do not move carts until they have been serviced.

Note: GFL has placed two dumpsters at their office, located at 410 Gunter Street, for City residents to dispose of trash if needed. The dumpsters are for residents’ use only and all trash must be bagged. There is not an option for recycling at this time.

The City of Sanford’s leaf, limb, and bulk trash collection crews will start with Tuesday’s route and operate on a regular schedule for the week.

Buzzline Microtransit will start at 10 a.m. However, drivers will proceed with caution and assess road safety on a case-by-case basis. Riders can check www.buzzlinemicro.com for status updates, or call COLTS at 919-776-7201.

To protect against winter kill and desiccation, the greens will remain covered at the Sanford Municipal Golf Course while freezing temperatures persist.

The Sanford Police Department and Sanford Fire Department will operate as usual. In case of life-threatening emergencies, dial 9-1-1. To report roadway hazards, call 919-775-8268. To report water or wastewater concerns, call 919-775-8215.

For emergency information from the City of Sanford, sign up here or text “EmergencyInfo” to 38276.
