Historic Jonesboro & Sanford's Community Spirit
Sanford and Jonesboro merged in 1947, forming the City of Sanford. Now known as Jonesboro Heights, this area is part of the Lee Avenue Historic District. With its preserved landmarks and local businesses, the neighborhood continues to maintain its historic charm for generations to come.
Busking in the ‘Boro is all about celebrating live music, local artists, and the unique spirit of Jonesboro,” says Caroline Jeffries, Parks and Grounds Administrator. “Events like this strengthen our community by supporting small businesses and creating a space where people can connect and enjoy a great time together.
The department has a full lineup of events for 2025, including street festivals, summer concerts, yoga in the park, and outdoor movies. Visit here for more information.
