At the June 3, 2025, regular meeting of the Sanford City Council, City Manager Hal Hegwer submitted the proposed municipal budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Assistant City Manager Beth Kelly presented the $121.2 million proposal, which is now available at sanfordnc.net/Proposed-Budget.
Sanford City Council will hold a budget work session on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the West End Conference Room of the Sanford Municipal Center, located at 225 E. Weatherspoon Street.
A public hearing on the proposed budget will take place during the Tuesday, June 17, 2025, regular City Council meeting, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share feedback. Registration for speakers begins at 5:00 p.m. and closes at 5:50 p.m.
Following the hearing, Council will vote to adopt the proposed budget or consider further amendments. The new fiscal year begins July 1, 2025.
All meetings are open to the public, though only the public hearing includes time for public comment.
