In coordination with Lee County Government and the Town of Broadway, Mayor Rebecca Salmon has made a Declaration of a State of Emergency for the City of Sanford.
By declaring a State of Emergency, the City of Sanford is authorized to take all actions necessary to maintain the public order or provide for the protection of lives, safety, or property, as needed.
No conditions or restrictions are imposed at this time. However, Mayor Salmon encourages residents to stay off roadways where possible, to limit travel, and not to interfere with the efforts of emergency responders and repair crews.
The declaration takes effect immediately and is in effect until rescinded. Read the declaration on our website here.
