Resident's Guide to Municipal Services
The Resident's Guide to Municipal Services is designed as a go-to resource for services, programs, and activities offered by the City of Sanford.
Note that the guide is not exhaustive. More information is located on our website and links are shared in each section. The guide is updated quarterly.
The guide is printed annually. Hard copies are available at these Sanford locations, while supplies last:
- City of Sanford Customer Service (upper level of Sanford Municipal Center), 225 E. Weatherspoon Street
- Sanford Police Department (lower level of Sanford Municipal Center), 225 E. Weatherspoon Street
- Buggy Company Building, 115 Chatham Street

Anyone with questions about City policies, services, and programs are always welcome to visit a City facility or contact City departments directly.
Buzzline Microtransit
Buzzline is convenient, accessible, and reliable on-demand public transportation that riders can use to travel within a designated service area within Sanford/Lee County. Each trip is $5, and up to 5 people can ride for one fare. Learn more here.
Mobile App
The City of Sanford offers a mobile app to give residents another option for connecting with local government. This digital tool serves as an on-the-go resource for municipal news and information that's accessible from any smart phone, tablet, or hand-held device.
Labelled "City of Sanford, NC," the app can be used to download agendas and minutes, apply for permits, make online payments, access police reports, and more. You'll also find current employment opportunities, news, maps, and contact information for Sanford City Council and municipal departments.
Projects Hub
The City of Sanford's project hub shares information about current and ongoing projects. Projects are added and updated with plans, renderings, timelines and other pertinent details as new information is available.
Sanford Alerts
The City of Sanford sends alerts and notifications regarding emergencies, routine water and sewer interruptions, street closures, and more through CivicReady's mass notification system. Learn more and get subscribed here.
Sanford Cares
The Sanford Cares Community Assistance & Relief Emergency Support program provides temporary assistance for residents in Lee County by allowing water customers to round up their monthly bills to the nearest dollar. Residents in need can apply for the emergency assistance. Learn more here.
